TRAUMA SENSITIVITY

AVOID OVERSTIMULATION

EMOTIONAL SAFETY

Learn how to provide emotional safety and true compassion and empathy.

WHAT IS TRUE COMPASSION, AND WHAT IS AN EMPATHY MISS?

How do you handle it, if a client starts crying?
How do you handle it, if a session brings up uncomfortable emotions or feelings for a client?
What do you do if a client shares something traumatic with you?

We shouldn't wing it. We should have clear procedures and protocols when we are dealing with our clients mental, emotional, and physical wellbeing.
Also, there are subtle nuances that can make a client feel seen, heard, and emotionally safe. Without this knowledge, we can unknowingly make the client feel disconnected and more shame.

We go over these subtle nuances, and how to develop the skills to provide a safe and grounded space for your clients.

HOW CAN WE CREATE MORE DIVERSITY AND INCLUSION IN THE HEALING SPACE?

This training addresses diversity, inclusion, and belonging.
It is important that we have awareness around accessibility, and how broken systems can still show up in the healing space.

We are creating awareness around control, shame, and how to not pathologize our clients.

Decolonizing healing is important to us. There is nothing worse than someone going into a healing space, and the same oppressive behaviors are repeated, in what's supposed to be a safe space. Often practitioners do not have awareness around things like this, without completing a trauma-informed training. We don't know what we don't know. That is why this training is so important.

Healing is powerful, and with great power, comes great responsibility. It's our responsibility to build awareness around these important topics.

WHY SOUND THERAPY NETWORK?

Our mission is to create more safety in the healing space.

We first tackled this with physical safety. There is harm being done in this space. There are people overstimulating their clients' nervous systems, increasing anxiety, and doing things that can be extremely triggering for clients who have experienced trauma, like putting bowls between their legs.

We've heard so many horror stories, so we started creating awareness around understanding the nervous system, and the importance of not retraumatizing clients unknowingly.

Next, we tackled the importance of emotional safety. What does emotional safety mean in a society that is based in control and manipulation? So many things we were taught that are good gestures are actually empathy misses. Then we wonder why so many people in today's society feel disconnected, and not seen and heard, when we have more access than ever. We dive into what true compassion is, and help reprogram the outdated systems that are keeping us isolated. We heal in community. We heal when we feel SAFE.

Lastly, we are tackling mental health. There is no question that people are struggling with mental health right now. Part of our program also focuses on the mental and emotional health of the practitioner, self-care, and understanding business boundaries to avoid burnout.

We don't want to just teach you how to play bowls. This program is teaching you how to truly show up as a grounded, embodied, and emotionally safe practitioner, who operates in integrity.

EVERYTHING WE TEACH IS BACKED BY RESEARCH AND DATA

Although Sound Therapy originated 100s of years ago, our nervous systems are different today. We have computers, cellphones, and wifi everywhere. That is impacting our health.

Also, nervous systems are different after Covid, and with the intense solar flares.

It is important we have up-to-date research on what society is struggling with today and how to use Sound Therapy to combat these issues with actual data and knowledge.

Adapting with the rapidly changing times, will equip you to truly help improve your clients mental, emotional, and physical well-being without over-stimulation.
